The first thing we need to learn is the proper placement of your fingers on the keyboard. This is called the home row configuration. Click on the image to practice typing home row keys.

Those with typing skills can type fast and accurate. Over the course of this semester you will be working to improve your skills as a typest.
Before we can judge how much you have improved your typing skills we need to see where you are at now.
Click on the image to take your first typing test.
At the website, click, 'start typing test' then click begin on the next page. Record your results on a piece of paper.
Practicing Homerow Keys
This site is great for drilling into your brain where the homerow keys are. Click on Lesson #1 get to work.
Lesson 1 H and E

Its time to begin really developing your skills. Lets start with our first two keys H and E. Click on the image and begin the lesson.
Lesson 2 I and R

Lesson two builds on what you've learned and teaches two new letter I and R. The I is struck with the right middle finger. The R is struck with the left forefinger. Your hands should not move only your fingers. Click on the image to begin the lesson.
Lesson 3 O and T

Lesson three builds on your skills and add the O and the T. The O is struck with your right ring finger. The T is struck with your left pointer finger. Good luck.
